Biographies

John R. Dew, CPP.
John served with the US Navy as an officer aboard ship and with Underwater Demolition and SEAL Teams. He also served over twenty years as a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with the white-collar crime division, counterintelligence division and Joint Terrorist Task Force. The majority of his career was spent at the Manhattan field office in New York. He served with the Infrastructure Protection Squad during his last three years. This assignment required frequent contact with security directors of government agencies and corporations for the purpose of urging them to improve the security of their organizations in anticipation of possible terrorist attack. His areas of expertise are counterintelligence, counterterrorism, infrastructure protection, investigations, training, operations, and risk management. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration, and a Masters of Science in Protection Management. After retiring from the FBI, John worked as a senior security consultant and specialized in risk management. John is qualified as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) with the American Society of Industrial Security. He is also member of the advisory board for the International Association of Counterterrorism Professionals (IACSP).

Patrick F. Joseph
Patrick received his undergraduate degree in Education from Hofstra University. He has worked numerous years as an educator before moving into the world of security. As a educator in one of the country's toughest urban school environments, Patrick was given first hand knowledge of urban school security needs, and what it would take to secure school facilities and students at the most complex levels. He has a wealth of knowledge in countermeasures for school environments and strategic solutions to prevent school violence and facilitate productive environments. Patrick has worked as an executive for a number of top security firms. His career has put him in position to negotiate major contracts in security and has given him hands on expertise in marketing and security consulting. Patrick has several years of experience in strategic business development and business continuity planning. His areas of expertise are system design and integration, physical security, covert tracking technology, security cost/benefit analysis, access control systems, urban threat analysis, strategic countermeasures and educational security. Patrick holds a Master of Science degree in Protection Management.
